Nursery
Children are important at Red Mountain Church and we strive to serve them well in our nursery. We provide childcare for immunized children from ages eight weeks to four years old. We ask that you don't bring your child to the nursery if he or she has been ill in the past 24 hours. Parents may check children in at the door of their nursery rooms. We currently have four nursery rooms: under 12 months, one year olds, two year olds, and three and four year olds.
Community Groups are asked to provide four volunteers in the nursery each week. Volunteers should arrive fifteen minutes before the service begins and ask a nursery caregiver where they are needed most. Please check the schedule below to see when your group is scheduled to volunteer.
Children's Church (Godly Play)
For children aged three to nine, we offer children's church, which takes place during the worship service. Children are dismissed from worship to meet their teachers by the doughnut table. Children three and four who are already in nursery will be escorted to their children's church room. We use the curriculum Godly Play (www.godlyplay.com) and focus on creating an atmosphere of reverent worship and a loving community. During the summers we take a break from the Godly Play curriculum and spend time hearing Bible stories that are structured around the Shorter Catechism. Children aged seven to nine are dismissed from children's church to find their parents, hopefully in time to join them for communion. (Not all children this age will take communion, we know, but we want to provide the experience of attending with parents and the ability to take it when ready.) Younger children aged six and under need to be picked up from their rooms by their parents. Only siblings aged 13 or older should pick up younger siblings. The children's church rooms are found upstairs.
